This focused primarily on problem-solving at plants across many businesses applying the above specialties. Dr. Blanding’s primary client was Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), with numerous locations in the US and abroad. These are 2000+ bar ethylene-based systems involving very high-energy reciprocating compressors and metering pumps with significant challenges in the areas of vibration, cyclic stress, and fatigue failures. Work included similar challenges with other businesses also involved high-pressure liquid and gas systems in the 500-1,000 bar range.
